Surprisingly, there are many poker jargons known today that start with the letter C. Here are some of those:
Calling station - this is another term for a passive poker player. This type of poker player is the opposite of the aggressive poker player. A calling station mostly calls, and rarely raises or reraises.
Catch - this happens in poker when a player's prayers are answered in the draw. If a poker player, is going for a straight draw, if he gets the card he needed at the river, then he caught it.
Catch up - related to catch. This means that before you caught your straight draw in the river, for example, another player at the poker table had two pairs at the turn. Therefore, you caught up with him.
Center pot - in poker, like Texas Hold'em poker, there are two types of pot. First is the center pot and the other is the side pot. The center pot is the main one, while the side pot happens when somebody has already bet all-in, and the others have called, but wanted to raise.
Chase - poker players do this just to see the draw. They usually are expecting to make something out of the draw. To chase is not a good play in poker, and you usually will lose if you chase. If you are expecting to get a straight draw, or a flush draw, you have very little chances of forming them.
Cheese - in poker, the cheese means a very weak hand.
Chip - are rounded objects that look like coins. They are made of plastic, composite or other materials. They are used in place of money at the poker table. They are the ones used for betting.
Chip dumping - is a cheating technique in poker, in which two players agree beforehand that they would go all-in early, mostly at the start of the poker game. Usually, no one else would call their bet, so whoever wins between the two gets to be the chip leader, leading with double the amount of the chips of the other players. More poker chips mean more chance. At the end of the poker game, if the colluder wins, the prize money will be split in half between the two colluders.
Collusion - related to chip dumping. In poker, this is a way of cheating by two or more people. The collusion can be among players only, or can also involve the dealer or a bystander.
